"Proud of Duluth Past, Present, Forever"
Dimension 38' x 46', Pencil on canvas by Daniel Austin. Part of the study: Capture live the objects in their environment". One of very few Austin realistic work. Here is the story of this artwork. Visited his sister in Duluth Gwinnett, GA. He went for a walk in downtown of this small city. Here come those beautiful landmarks. Determined to capture them now on his canvas before the landscape of this town change. Austin spent the next two months of December and January working tirelessly everyday on cold weather or on snow in from of this landmark to recapture it on his zero canvas. Please pay very good attention to the details. All the symmetric lines are done with hand, no ruler or picture were used during the stake. For each Landmark, Austin went to stand in front of the building in order to capture the details. He wants to leave you an impression that you can see the city life in front of you. Austin wish on day this artwork will be part of the city of Duluth cultural heritage.
